One of the departments at the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Management is the Department of Economic Cybernetics and Management of Economic Security.

The Department graduates:

• Bachelors and Masters of the direction of Economy and Business in the specialty of Economic Cybernetics (7.050102, 8.050102), qualification – economist, form of training – full-time, correspondence, language of training – Ukrainian, Russian, English;
• Masters of Management of Financial and Economic Security (8.000015),specific category, qualification – professional of financial and economic security. form of training – full-time, language of training – Ukrainian, Russian.

Department`s scientific directions

• Methods of mathematical modeling and new information technologies in the economy.
• Theoretical and practical approaches to the formation of the market mechanism of management of market practitioners under current conditions.
• Theory and practice of pricing at the enterprises of Ukraine in the modern conditions.

Main investigations directions are:

• development of the scientific and methodological foundations of the region strategic development;
• forming organizational and methodological ensuring of the management of business competitiveness;
• development of the methods of the economic and mathematic modeling;
• development of the economic and mathematic models of the modern businessmanagement;
• modeling of a system of the effective business management;
• modeling of a strategy of business adaptation;
• development of the economic mechanism of achievement the population lifequality under using factor of limited energy resources of the Kharkiv region;
• development of a strategy of formation a corporate culture in enterprises;
• management of the regional innovative-type economy.

Scientific personnel of highest qualification is training under postgraduate course, where currently studying 14 people.
2 doctorial and 2 PhD theses were defended over the last year at the department.

Teaching Staff:

The teachers with extensive pedagogical, industrial and scientific experience work at the Department of Economic Cybernetics and Management of Economic Security. Among 50 academic staff there are 3 academicians of sectoral academies, 9 doctors of science, 29 PhD.

International collaboration:

International cooperation of the Department develops simultaneously with the educational work for the preparation of foreign students (including study in foreign languages). Since 2007 at the Department of Economic Cybernetics and Management of Economic Security the postgraduate foreign students have been studying under the scientific supervision of Prof. V.A. Timofeev.

The department academic staff won a competition to perform work on a project development of strategy of progress for the region on the order of Mongolia. Department of Economic Cybernetics and Management of Economic Security collaborate with the University of Jyvaskyla (Finland) and universities of Russia. The Head of the Department V.A. Timofeev is a member of the bureau office of the section of Informatics of Russian Academy of Sciences.

Teachers of the department regularly participate in national and international conferences. Some teachers of the faculty are involved in the preparation of foreign students in English form of training in specialties KNURE.

Several students were trained in the European universities.
