Since 1975 the Department realizes training of engineers in the specialty «Telecommunication Systems and Networks» 8(7).092401. Engineers in this specialty are systems experts ensuring designing, mounting and technical support of telecommunication systems and networks including local, national and global networks functioning on the basis of wire, fiber-optical, radio and satellite communication lines.
 
Scientific Directions:
 
1.       Development of SIP-technologies in the networks of the new generation of NGN.
2.       Development of methods for electromagnetic compatibility support in the mobile communication systems 3G, in the systems of customer radio access Wi-Fi, Wi-max.
3.       Digital, spatial-temporal and adaptive signals processing in telecommunications.
4.       Administrative management in the sphere of protection of information with limited access.
5.       Investigation of completely optical communication networks (DWDM).
International Collaboration:
 
The Department works closely with the leading enterprises of communication such as «Ukrtelecom», URDIC, URDIRE, ORDIC, MODIC and other R&DI DB and plants developing communication systems and elements as well as commercial operators of communication: «KievStar», UМС, "Velton Telecom", "Ukrainian Radio Systems», "Astel", "Smith", "Recom", Sotel where our graduates work.
Owing to international collaboration with Samsung and Branch of the International Academy Cisco the educational center was founded which makes it possible to train and train anew experts in maintenance of modern telecommunication equipment giving them the international level certificates.
Professorial and Teaching Staff:
 
            42 employees work at the Department, among them there are: 2 Academicians, 4 Doctors of Sciences, 5 Professors, 20 Candidates of Sciences and Assistant-Professors, 12 post-graduates and scientific workers.
2 Doctor’s and 16 Candidate’s dissertations were defended at the Department. More than 250 scientific articles, 3 monographs, 4 manuals on the scientific directions of the Department were published.
