The Department of Ukrainian Culture, History and Language Science was founded on the basis of the Computer Science Department is based on preparation of subjects on disciplines of a socially- humanitarian cycle.

The following subjects are taught: “History of Ukraine”, “History of the Ukrainian culture”, “The Ukrainian language by a professional orientation”, “Modern Ukrainian Literature and Rhetoric”, “Rhetoric and speech culture”.

The teaching staff makes efforts to high-quality preparation of students in the above-stated subjects. The lecturers pay great attention to updating of the teaching programs and creation of new educational courses at the option of students: “Bases of terminology”, “Theory and Practical Courses of translation of the scientific texts from and into Ukrainian”, “History of publishing trade”, “History of Slobidska Ukraine”.

 The methodical base of studying of special courses is based on these programs. The teaching staff of the Department  prepares and publishes textbooks, manual-practical works including materials for remote mode of study in system of LERSUS.

The Department develops the complex themes of national state structure, etnogenesis, eurointegration processes, forming  activity of society, social-cultural, educational, political organizations of the Ukrainian people, theoretical aspects of the history of Ukrainian culture. The leading themes of the Department are: “Modern problems of term creation in computer (nanotechnologies, artificial intelligence), mathematical, electronic, cybernetic, economic, telecommunication (optofiber systems) term system in Ukrainian”, “Translation features in computer (nanotechnologies, artificial intelligence), mathematical, electronic, cybernetic, economic, telecommunication (optofiber systems) term system”.

Scientific direction of the Department:

1. ”Statehood evolution of Ukraine”.
2. “Modern problems of term creation in Ukraine”.

Publishing activity:

The teaching staff works on publishing of educational manuals. Methodical recommendations for seminars on "History of Ukraine" have been prepared for publishing (by Professor Chorna N.V., Associate Professor Badeeva L.I.).

Developing knowledge of students in history and culture of the country, the teaching staff of the department created the Literary circle-studio "Chebrets" , Historical and Archeographical circle "Svitoch". The Shevchenko’s holidays, conferences devoted to the memorials and celebration of memory honor of remarkable figures in Ukranian literature and History.

At present the Department employs a total of 16 highly-qualitied staff, including 2 Professors and 8 Candidates of Sciences.
